Mikros Iros Publications, based in Greece have made available for pre-order a new Phantom comic book.

Titled ‘The Phantom #1 – The Forbidden Land‘, the comic book will contain 156 color pages measuring 17cm x 24cm, with the 5 stories published within printed in Greek text. The online pre-order advertisement notifies us that an array of writers and illustrators are featured in the comic book, including Tony DePaul, Graham Nolan, Paul Ryan, Terry Beatty, Jeff Weigel.

The pre-order advertisement describes The Phantom #1 – The Forbidden Land as:

The first masked comic book superhero returns after almost 50 years of publishing absence in our country in a new independent edition!

The Phantom first appeared in United States newspapers on February 17, 1936, created by Lee Falk , and managed to become a real publishing phenomenon. The “Ghost Walking” is now considered a historical figure of the Ninth Art and has earned his rightful place in the comics world as the first masked superhero of the Ninth Art.

Almost half a century after his last independent release, this historical hero is being revived again in Greece . Of course, one could say that “half a century” is somewhat relative, because, as an old jungle saying goes: ” When the Phantom moves, time freezes.” 

The first volume includes the following five adventures, which were published for the first time in America in Sunday newspapers , in the period 2006-2020, and are unpublished in our country: 

• The Forbidden Land
• The Gravediggers
• Pirates of Plutonium 
• The Nomad’s Fortress
• The Ship Of Spies

All five of these stories are going to captivate you and bring both old and new audiences into contact with the rich world of the hero!
