The US based publisher Mad Cave Studios is planning on releasing a new comic book series which will feature Defenders of the Earth.

Mad Cave Studios will be releasing a trade paperback in June 2024 (currently advertised for pre-order on their website HERE), which will be reprinting the Defenders of the Earth 4 edition miniseries originally published by Star Comics/Marvel in 1987. This reprint edition will contain 96 full color pages measuring 6.63 x 10.13 inches.

The Defenders of the Earth cartoon series main characters are Flash Gordon, the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician and Lothar, who are all licensed by King Features Syndicate. Mad Cave Studios currently hold publishing permission to release new Flash Gordon and Defenders of the Earth comic books.

Additionally, a new Defenders of the Earth series is underway by Mad Cave Studios, which will contain 8 editions commencing in August 2024. An edition is planned to be released on average 1 per month. Below we see a copy of Mad Cave Studios Publishing Program for 2024 which mainly features Flash Gordon publications.

A Defenders of the Earth column is found on the above Publishing Program, which notes both the trade paperback containing the reprints due for release in June 2024, plus the first 4 Defenders of the Earth comic books commencing in August 2024.

No further information is currently available on Mad Cave Studios website in respect to cover art images, content to be published within the series, nor who the writers/artists will be.
