Comics Kingdom Website Redesign

The digital comic website operated by King Features Syndicate, titled Comics Kingdom has been redesigned with a fresh new look.

Comics Kingdom was launched in November 2008 as a digital platform for reading syndicated comic strips under license to King Features Syndicate. Both daily and Sunday comic strips are available to read free of charge on the website for generally around 30 days, before a subscription is required to read anything past this period.

The Comics Kingdom website grew over the years to not only feature comic strips, but to also include an online shop and news section.

The Phantom comic strip can be read on the Comics Kingdom website daily, in color (click HERE). These same comic strips seen on the website are released in conjunction with printed comic strips in our newspapers.

Looking at the new design when heading over to the Phantom page, we see some of the creators of the Phantom, both past and present, with Lee Falk, Jeff Weigel, Mike Manley and Tony DePaul featured. We can also select these creators to read a small biography on their work, both within the comic book industry and also their work on the Phantom.

We also have the option to read more about the Phantom and the characters found in his storyline. When we select ‘About‘ within the Phantom comic strip page, it takes us to another page, with information found about the Phantom, Diana Palmer, Devil and Hero.

New branding has also appeared, seen on both the Comics Kingdom’s website and also on their social feeds. This new imagery can be seen below, with comic speech bubbles being a big focus, seen both as a standalone logo and also within the Comics Kingdom wording.

A disclaimer is provided on the website, notify visitors to the site that its still currently going through its changeover phase. This message reads:

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please bear with us as we work to get the site running smoothly!

It’s great to see King Features Syndicate redesigning the Comics Kingdom website with a fresh new look and additional content. Hopefully it not only draws in new readers to their comic strips, but also keeps them engaged by learning how the comic strips comes to fruition via their talented creators and backstory of the characters.
