New Phantom Comic Books By ECR-Verlag

Currently available for pre-order are Phantom comic books published by ECR-Verlag, a publishing house based in Germany.

The comic books will contain 3 Phantom classic stories written by Lee Falk and illustrated by Sy Barry, under license by King Features Syndicate. The 3 daily comic strip stories are the first 3 Phantom strips to be illustrated by Sy Barry commencing in 1961, following on from where Wilson McCoy ended. ECR-Verlag will be publishing the stories in sequence as they appeared in US newspapers:

Daily Newspaper Story 82: The Slave Market of Mucar
Daily Newspaper Story 83: The Epidemic
Daily Newspaper Story 84: The Warf Rats

Hard Cover Comic Book

Available in both German and English text, the hardcover album style comic book will contain 108 black and white pages measuring 26.5cm x 18cm. On the footer of the comic book, we find both the numbers and the titles of the daily newspaper stories. This edition in the 2 languages is due for release in November 2023.

3-Pack Comic Book Set

Only available in German text, the 3 comic strip stories are available in a traditional comic book softcover format containing an overall total of 120 pages (approximately 40 pages each) measuring 26.5cm x 18cm. These editions come in a mix of color and black and white pages. On the footer of each of the comic books, we find both the number and the title of the daily newspaper story published within. This 3-pack comic book set is due for release in November 2023.

Comic Review 17

Comic Rundschau 17 (which translates to Comic Review) is a magazine published by ECR-Verlag, which will feature the Phantom hard cover comic book on it’s cover. The magazine will contain 48 color pages measuring 29.5cm x 21cm. No information is available as yet on it’s contents, however it’s likely to feature a variety of articles on the Phantom and the publications above. This magazine is due for release in November 2023.
