The Phantom makes an appearance on the cover of MAD Magazine number 1, published by Semic in Norway in 1983.
The Norwegian edition of MAD magazine was launched in 1971. Williams Publishing released the first 8 issue from 1971-1972. After nine years of absence, Semic publishing house began to publish the second series which ran from 1981 thru until 1994. The second series lasted 118 issues and was the most successful MAD series in Norway. The magazine contained a mixture of translated material from U.S editions and self-produced material from Norwegian artists and writers.
